Why does my requested seat count not fit even though the table fits between the walls?

The planner reserves the clearance you selected for pulling out chairs and moving around seated guests. A tabletop can physically fit between the walls and still leave the room difficult to use.

Should a sideboard or cabinet be included in the room measurement?

Yes. Measure the open dining zone after accounting for the depth of sideboards, cabinets, radiators, and other fixed projections. The calculator cannot subtract furniture that is not included in the dimensions you enter.

Does the calculated seating capacity guarantee that every chair will fit?

No. Chair width, table legs, pedestals, trestles, aprons, end seating, and extension hardware can reduce usable places. Confirm the space between supports and the manufacturer's stated capacity before buying.
