Prioritize reach
A beautiful table still needs to be close enough for daily use. Test the selected sofa gap while seated before ordering.

A surface near the cushion height, or slightly lower, usually feels calmer and is easier to reach than a noticeably taller table.
Use the smallest clearance only where people rarely pass. Main circulation routes need more room than a quiet corner.

These answers explain the limits and placement details that a single calculator result cannot decide for you.
The selected sofa gap and far-side clearance already use the available depth. Reduce the table footprint only if daily reach and circulation still work, or consider nesting tables, a small drink table, or an ottoman that can move.
Measure from the front edge of the sofa seat to the first fixed edge that limits the layout, such as a media console, fireplace zone, wall, or main walking path. Do not measure from the back of the sofa.
Use the length target as a visual starting point, but verify the full diameter or square depth in the room. Rounded corners can improve movement, while a square table may project farther into the pathway than expected.
