The Champagne Salon: Soft Curves, Clear Purpose
An ivory seating group, pale stone and warm metal create a living room that feels composed without becoming formal.

The design notes
What makes this room work.
Draw the conversation area first
Mark the sofa and chair footprints on the floor, then walk the route through the room. A curved sofa needs space around its widest point; it does not always fit where a straight sofa fitted. Position the table within comfortable reach of the seats and keep the main route outside the conversation group. Test the layout with everyday bags, pets and visitors in mind.
Give pale colors different textures
Combine an ivory fabric with a more visibly grained stone and one warm timber finish. The colors can sit close together while their surfaces provide variety. View upholstery samples beside the rug in both daylight and evening light. If your household dislikes the maintenance of pale seating, keep the main sofa and introduce the palette through a chair or smaller textile.
Keep brass as punctuation
A lamp base or narrow metal detail is enough to connect the room to the champagne direction. Avoid choosing every accessory in the same metallic finish. A fabric lampshade can bring a softer pool of light beside the seating, leaving the stone and glass surfaces to catch the daylight.
Make it yours
Borrow the idea.
Retain a comfortable existing sofa and build the lighter scheme around it. A pale rug, rounded side table and warm lamp can change the room without a full furniture replacement. For a smaller living room, a loveseat may be more useful than a sweeping curved sofa.
Before you bring it home
- Measure the delivery route and the widest point of curved furniture.
- Compare upholstery care with everyday household use.
- Check table weight, edge shape and reach from each seat.
