Give the worktable a clear operating zone
Tape the desk, chair rotation and the route to closed storage before placing shelves or a lounge seat. Keep frequently used thread and patches in shallow trays that can be lifted away, and reserve one uninterrupted area for the garment itself. Store scissors, needles and adhesives in labeled closed compartments when the room is not in use.
Aim task light at the work, not the eyes
Place the adjustable lamp on the side opposite the working hand where practical, then test its reach across the actual tabletop. Shield the bulb from the seated sight line and provide a safe cord route that does not cross the chair path. General shelf light can support the room, but detailed color matching needs its own bright, controlled source.
Organize textiles by active project
