Plan storage around the largest sheet

A shallow chest can replace built-in flat files.
Separate desk work from lounge reading
Give the desk a focused adjustable lamp and enough depth to open a map without blocking the route, then place the lounge chair with its own reachable table. Route cords behind furniture, protect paper from hot lamps and direct sun, and test the desk chair movement at full scale. The room is for a hobby, not a therapeutic treatment.
Use indigo as architecture and marigold as a marker
Sample indigo on the flat files and adjacent wall because it can shift toward black in limited daylight. Keep marigold to the chair and ottoman, then use walnut, parchment and pale stone to maintain contrast. Polished nickel adds a cool functional note without competing with the brass desk details.
