Specify cork for its actual location
Wall tile and flooring have different wear layers, edge profiles and maintenance requirements. Confirm the substrate, finish, direct-sun guidance, rolling-chair compatibility and repair method with the supplier. Use chair protection if the chosen floor is not rated for concentrated caster or swivel-base loads.
Fit the desk to the task and the route
A generous desk can support large paper and puzzles but may overwhelm a modest room. Measure the top, knee opening, chair pullback and delivery path, then keep the doorway and window operation clear. The Farley alternative is substantially larger than the compact desk shown in the concept.
Separate daylight control from task light
A lined celadon shade can reduce glare without forcing the room to stay dim. Place the adjustable lamp on the opposite side from the writing hand, check shade reach and bulb comfort, and route the cord away from the chair's swivel path. Do not let furniture block required window operation.
Make it yours
Borrow the idea.
Use cork on one wall and keep an existing hard floor if a full installation is impractical. A compact writing table, supportive chair and adjustable lamp can create the same useful zone in a bedroom corner. Add celadon through a Roman shade or curtain after observing heat and glare through the day.
